Introduction

With the rapid advancement of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in research and academic publishing, Modern Studies in Management & Organization considers it essential to establish a clear, comprehensive, and ethically grounded policy. The primary objective of this policy is to preserve scientific originality, ensure research integrity, and enhance the quality of published articles.

AI tools can serve as valuable aids in the research and writing process, but they can never replace critical thinking, deep analysis, and expert human judgment. Accordingly, this policy rests on two fundamental principles:

• Absolute transparency in disclosing AI usage

• Full human responsibility for scholarly content

Section 1: Authors’ Duties and Responsibilities

1.1 Permitted Uses (with mandatory disclosure)

Authors may use AI tools in the following stages, provided full disclosure is made:

• Idea generation and initial structuring of research

• Language editing and improvement of readability

• Translation of relevant texts (with human verification)

• Assistance in coding or quantitative/qualitative data analysis (with author’s final approval)

• Summarization or rewriting of existing texts (without plagiarism)

1.2 Prohibited Uses

• Automated generation of core sections (abstract, introduction, methods, discussion, conclusion) without human review

• Fabrication of data, citations, or references

• Using AI to bypass peer review or deceive plagiarism detection systems

• Replacing human analysis and judgment with raw AI outputs

1.3 Mandatory Disclosure (Transparency Statement)

All authors must submit an AI usage statement during manuscript submission and include it in the “AI Usage Statement” section of the article.

Statement on the use of artificial intelligence (if not used): 
The authors declare that no artificial intelligence (AI) tools were used in the preparation of this manuscript for writing, analysis, or data generation. All content is the result of the authors’ own human effort and judgment.

Failure to disclose or incomplete disclosure will be considered misconduct and may result in rejection, retraction, or notification to relevant institutions.

Section 2: Reviewers’ Duties and Responsibilities

2.1 Evaluation of Manuscripts

Reviewers should focus on originality, methodological soundness, quality of analysis, and scholarly reasoning. Any suspected undisclosed or inappropriate use of AI must be reported to the editor.

2.2 Reviewers’ Use of AI

To preserve confidentiality and impartiality, reviewers are prohibited from using AI tools to draft or decide on peer review reports. Limited auxiliary use (e.g., plagiarism checks or citation verification) is permitted, provided the final judgment remains human.

3.1 Editorial Board

• Publish annual reports on violations and corrective actions

3.2 Editor-in-Chief

• Oversee proper implementation of the policy

• Support ethical decisions of the editorial board
